The Literary Festival HeadRead from 24th to 26th May

During the HeadRead Literary Festival, meetings with children‘s literature authors, as well as a book fair, will take place in the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre.

Thursday, 24th May

10am Children’s writer Kätlin Vainola and illustrator Ulla Saar talk about their children’s books and collaboration in the fairy tale attic. The meeting will be held in Estonian.
10am Anti Saar in the illustration gallery. In Estonian.
12pm Reeli Reinaus. In Estonian.
2pm Mika Keränen. In Estonian.
4pm Scottish children’s author and storyteller Janis MacKay. The meeting will be held in English.

Friday, 25th May

10am Finnish children’s author Timo Parvela will meet young readers in the fairy tale attic. The meeting will be translated from Finnish into Estonian by Piret Kärm.
10am Swedish children’s author Åsa Lind in the illustration gallery. The meeting will be translated from Swedish into Estonian by Kaja Sakk.
12pm Timo Parvela in the illustration gallery. Translated from Finnish into Estonian by Piret Kärm.

Saturday, 26th May

12pm – Book fair in the courtyard of the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre. Everyone can bring along children’ books for exchange! Children can meet the mascot of the Centre, Nukitsamees (Bumpy) and participate in various activities. There is also a café!
