In the very first book of the Time Travellers series, The Adventures of a Beginner Time Traveller (2016), we met Anette and Mariliis, two eighth-graders convinced that school—and classmates—were a complete bore. They especially loathed physics. But one day, after witnessing a strange accident, they found themselves unexpectedly fascinated by the very subject they used to despise. Before long, the girls had become bona fide time travellers, unbound by the limits of space and time.

Now, in the fifth instalment, the young adventurers land in the year 3874, when schools teach that the Earth is flat and rests on the backs of elephants. Anyone daring to doubt this ‘truth’ is swiftly punished. The girls must therefore think fast if they hope to escape back to ordinary life. Luckily, they are clever—and it turns out that a little bit of physics really can go a very long way.
